On the 27th June 2008 Team ‘The Mongol Way Round’ will attempt to travel where few have gone before. Far from the well walked paths of a Costa Del Sol package holidays the group will head east, taking in Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia before arriving at the destination: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The reason for enduring 10 hours a day behind the wheel in 50 degree heat? Not to mention the stress of corrupt border control guards, dodgy motors and AJ and Shef’s incessant House music? Well, besides a chance to visit some of the most remote places on earth… raising lots of money for three very good causes!
The first £1500 donated will go to Save the Children Mongolia whose work continues to improve the lives of thousands of Children through education, shelter and law changes. The next £1500 will go to the British Heart Foundation who work in the UK improves the lives of millions of suffers of Heart problems. Any additional money raised being split evenly between the two. Furthermore, the 3 Daihatsu Sportrak cars that we complete the journey in will be auctioned at the other end with all the money raised going to the Children’s Development Protection Foundation (CDPF) of Mongolia.
If you are able to donate any thing to these worthy causes please follow this link to our sponsorship page. Any contribution will help, even if only 20p a mile :)
