JAM RALLY
This summer, Team JAM RALLY, consisting of Jonty Ashworth , and Mike Gibson, two Construction Management students studying in Leeds , will be driving a quarter of the way around the world from London to Mongolia on the Mongolia Charity Rally 2009 in aid of Cancer Research UK, and Save the Children and Go Help, the organisers of the Mongolia Charity Rally.
This momentous journey will begin in London on 11 July 2009 at Highbury Fields in Islington, where we will be given a taste of Mongolia and seen off on our trip by the Mongolian Ambassador and London’s Mongolian community. We will arrive a 3 weeks later – one of the best times of our lives – that will be filled with potholes, dust, deserts, mountain ranges, baking days, freezing nights, many, many borders (and border guards) and more adventures than you can shake a stick at.
During a momentary lapse of sanity; Jules and Paisley have decided to embark upon the Mongolian Charity Rally 2009. To drive 10,000 miles in a car we have carefully selected based upon our ‘extensive mechanical expertise (!?)’, through countries where showers and tarmac roads are few and far between and in temperatures that would make even the devil sweat. All this plus oppurtunistic border guards and power happy policemen with AK47s...we must be mad!?
