A mild November in Mongolia
I don't want to go next July!
Can't wait until next year? If the idea of being lost in Kazakhstan without another rallier around is more your cup of tea, this is the page for you. We'll help you get on the road to Mongolia and raising money for good causes at any time of year. We've got teams on the road right now, and others leaving in the spring and early summer. Pick your own date and you can really make your own adventure!
When should I go?
Mongolia starts getting mighty chilly by the end of September. By the end of November you can be expecting -10 degrees celsius in the day and -25 and below at night. You are blessed with clear blue skies but it is mighty cold. By January, lows can reach past -40. Mongolians run their cars without coolant in the radiators and use blow torches to warm their sumps! By April/May things have warmed up and in June the rains start making roads muddy throughout July and early August.

How much will it cost?
The entry fee is the same whatever time of year you travel but remember you must take a vehicle that meets the minimum requirements. Read the vehicles pages for more details. This may all sound harsh, but it can be as much hassle to arrange for one car to be imported into Mongolia as it is for 100, both for us and for our Mongolian partner the CDPF. But remember, you get everything a summer rallier gets. You'll be able to come along to the parties, the launch in London, and you'll have access to all of the features on this site. You'll get a warm welcome from our friends in Ulaanbaatar at any time of year. Just sign up as normal, and then tell us the date you are expecting to arrive. You need to give us at least 6 weeks to make the arrangements in Mongolia, but otherwise you're free to leave any time you like.
